First, the bad news.
Craft Heaven is closing down at Easter.
And now, the good news.
Only the shop will close. I will still sell online; still do custom work (dyeing shoes, making fascinators and repairing jewellery); still give craft classes. I'll be finalising the details over the next few weeks, but am co-ordinating with various friendly businesses around Letterkenny who are willing to act as drop-off/collection points after Easter.
So, for example, Donna in Wisteria (Oliver Plunkett Road) will take in your ready-made fascinators for me to embellish or modify, and your shoes to be dyed.
If you'd like to order online but don't want to pay postage, you can choose to collect your order from LK Pets (Glencar) or Jaycee's Centra (Long Lane). (I'll create a list on our website of additional businesses willing to act as collection points.)
And I will hire a venue to provide craft classes.
I may even start a regular “craft clinic” where you can call in with some troublesome project for advice.
With the extra “free” time I have, I will be available to do more craft fairs locally and even around the country.
Not that I am fooling myself that I will have a lot of free time, because I will be doing more online sales which means adding more products to my websites. There are currently 3,000+ products on www.craftsupplies.ie but I have about 30,000 products in the shop waiting to be added! And many of the items currently online have been discontinued and need to be removed. So I will be taking that website offline for a few weeks to give it a complete overhaul.
In the meantime, www.craft-heaven.com and my Amazon store will still be active. I may also start selling on Ebay and eBid. In short, you will find it hard to avoid me on the internet!
I would recommend that you use any gift voucher, credit note or loyalty discount that you have for Craft Heaven as soon as possible. Don't panic if you can't use them before Easter, I will still accept them for online purchases from my website, but it will just be a little slower as you'll have to post them to me.
I am still taking in jewellery for repair and other items to be customised, but these will need to be collected again before Easter so that they don't get mislaid in the move.
Of course, I'll reduce our prices over the next couple of months so there are plenty of bargains to be had. I will continue to get in new stock, on a smaller scale. And I will continue to place orders on demand for those hard-to-get items, but full payment will be required up-front.
