Projects - Elisa's Cards.
Intro to Elisa:

Elisa feels like she's been crafting since
forever :)
" I started digital scrapbooking a couple of years ago and
did my first paper layout soon after joining the www.craftsupplies.ie forum last
year.  Scrapbooking is my first love and takes up all my free time.
My style is graphic and simple and my biggest influence was the book "
Clean& Simple Scrapbooking" by Cathy Zielske. I also get inspiration in ads
and from children's clothing (while ironing them:)).
Elisa has a gorgeous modern and graphic style that
has seen her published in Scrapbook Inspirations more than once, and she won our
last year's December Layout Challenge!  We're thrilled to have her on the
team.
Elisa's September 2006 Layouts:
Project 1:
I wanted to make a really happy layout to start my
Design Team Project. I hope it will make you smile!  The Basic Grey Colour
Me Silly is ideal for fun projects, with its bright colours and eye-catching
patterns and I particularly loved the jumping frogs in the Giggle paper.
The colours are so bright that I decided to use a black & white photo and a
black background to balance the layout.

MATERIALS
1 sheet of Bazzil cardstock black “Raisin”
2 sheets of Basic Grey CMS “Giggle” paper
1 sheet of Basic Grey CMS “Journey” paper
1 sheet of white tracing
paper or vellum
Foam pads
Invisible glue tape

Also:
Black journaling pen (optional)
8’ x 5’ photo (portrait, preferably B&
W)
Suggested title fonts: Impact, Milk & Cereal
from www.dafont.com

Instructions:
1. Cut a big circle out of “Giggle”. (I used
a pizza pan as a template). Glue the paper on the black cardstock.
2. Glue the photo on the paper, slightly off
centre looks best.
3. Print the words frog and
prince on the stripy paper. Choose a chunky font, printing only the
outline. (Hint: to make the title stand out, print a thick outline. Or trace
over the outline with a black pen). Cut each word carefully with scissors or a
craft knife.
4. Make 2 L-shapes out of the white tracing
paper. The L-shapes should be around 1’ (2.5cm) wide. (Note: print the title
vertically on the white tracing paper before you cut it out)
Glue the L-shapes on the layout and the use the
foam pads to add the words frog and prince over the L-shapes.
5. Cut out 2 frogs from the second “Giggle”
paper and stick on the layout, overlapping the photo. Optionally outline the
frogs with a black pen. Cut out one or two flies, and glue over photo. Trace
swirly dotted lines around the flies.

Project 2:
This is a really easy layout to make, and its
simplicity makes the photos really stand out. My favourite bit is the title made
of mini flowers. The bottom bar is a strip made of small photos, if you don’t
have any, replace with coordinating patterned paper. I have printed the
journaling, but because it was a bit of a headache to fit the journaling and
title in a A4 printer, I am giving instructions to handwritten journaling and
title .
MATERIALS
1 sheet of MAMBI “ToffecrispPop” paper
Green mini flowers
Also:
White cardstock (coming soon!)
Black journaling pen
White pen
(optional)
Pencil & eraser
Two 6’ x 4’ photos (landscape)
Selection of small photos at least 1 1/3’ high
OR
1 sheet of MAMBI “Pink
Saying” paper

INSTRUCTIONS
Cut 2 strips of the stripped paper. One ½ inch wide
and the other 1/3 inch wide.
Glue the ½ inch strip on the top of the white
cardstock. Place the two 6’x4’ photos side by side on the cardstock and the
beneath it the other paper strip.
Crop the smaller photos to have the same height and
stick them at the bottom of the page. Alternatively use a strip of the “Pink
Saying” paper.
Title
Using the pencil, write the title on the bottom
right of the cardstock. Where the title overlaps the photos, use a pen. White is
better, in case the marks are not completely hidden by the flowers.
Place a bunch of the mini-flowers close to the
title. Bit by bit put a bit of glue over the letters. Use pincers or a tooth
pick to move the flowers and glue them
