Cara Craft Supplies Monthly Projects!!

November 2006 - Elisa's Projects!
Elisa feels like she's been crafting since forever :)  "I started digital scrapbooking a couple of years ago and
did my first paper layout soon after joining the www.craftsupplies.ie forum last year.  Scrapbooking is my first
love and takes up all my free time.  My style is graphic and simple and my biggest influence was the book
"Clean& Simple Scrapbooking" by Cathy Zielske. I also get inspiration in ads and from children's clothing (while
ironing them:)).  Elisa has a gorgeous modern and graphic style that has seen her published in Scrapbook
Inspirations more than once, and she won our last year's December Layout Challenge!  We're thrilled to have
her on the team.
Project 1 - Friends

1 sheet of dark pink Bazzil cardstock Juneberry
1 sheet of pink Bazzil cardstock Petunia
1 sheet of We R Memory Keepers Diner Jukebox paper
Chipboard letters or an “irregular” font such as Good Girl
Regular circle punch (optional)
White Sakura 3D roller pen
Also:
8 x 5 photo (portrait)
Mini Foam Pads
Needle
Assorted paper scraps OR stamp pads OR acrylic paint
Diamond glaze (optional)

Instructions

Step 1 - Flowers and circles
Cut out or punch 12 to 15 circles out of the patterned paper.

                Flower Template                                                                                    Flower Detail

Make a flower template with a shape like the above. The flower should be about 2 ¾ inches in diameter. Cut out the
template and use it to draw 3 flowers in the back of the light pink cardstock Cut out the three flower. With the needle,
prick the each flower from the centre to the middle of each petal at regular intervals. Put one of the punched circles in
the middle of the flower using a foam pad.
Step 2 - The title
If you don’t have a chipboard alphabet, first print your title in a left-over cardstock and cut each letter out.
Cover each letter of the title, varying the colours for each letter. Use whatever you have available, stamp pads, paper
or paint. Optionally cover some letters with Diamond Glaze afterwards.
Step 3 - Putting it all together
Cut two strips of the patterned paper, one around 1 inch wide and the other 2 inches wide.
Arrange the papers strips, the photo and the title on the dark pink cardstock, with the photo partially covering the papers.
When you are happy with the placement, glue everything on the cardstock.
Find something circular, such as a dessert plate, to use as a template. Place the plate on the layout surrounding the
photograph, and draw a circle lightly with a pencil. Glue the 3 flowers on the circle so that it frames the photo. Glue only
the centre of the flowers, leaving the petals free, to give it a more 3D feel.  Use the remaining punched circles to complete
the big circle. Leave out the photograph, if you wish. Draw small dots between the punched circles.

Project 2 - "Berceuse"

Project 2 - "Berceuse".
This is a girly and sparkly layout which is great fun to make.
It would work very well with a black& white photograph.

Materials:
2 sheets of Chatterbox double sided cardstock Rosey Villa Dots
1 sheet of Chatterbox double sided paper Villa Teacups   or similar pink flowery paper.
Prisma Ultra Fine Glitter
Clear Self Adhesive Gemstones or Round Clear Gems
White cardstock
Black journaling pen
Also:
6 x 4 photo (portrait)
Mini Foam Pads
Sand paper
Cardboard
Suggested font: Ribbon Happy

Instructions

Step 1 - make the swirl using the template below and some patterned paper or cardstock.
To download the image, right click on the picture and chose "save as" to save to your machine.

Next, cut one of the Villa Dots cardstock to an A4 size. Save the template above in your computer.
Print the swirl template on the dotted size of the cardstock, resizing the swirl to make as big as possible in the A4
cardstock. Glue the swirl on cardboard and cut it out. Sand the edges. Apply glue to the edges of the swirl and
sprinkle glitter on top of it.
Step 2 - Other embellishments
Cut the Villa Teacups paper to A4 size and reserve. From the remaining piece o
of paper, cut out 2 or 3 of the flower-like patterns, glue them on the cardboard and cut them out again. Decorate it
with glitter and gems.
Step 3 - Title
Print the title on the white cardstock and cut it out, leaving a white border around each letter.
Step 4 - Putting all together
With the journaling pen, draw a border on the photography. Sand the edges before if there is not enough contrast.
Glue the swirl over the Villa Teacups paper, at a slight angle, making sure that there is enough paper left to put the
title in. Cut out all the paper that is left above the swirl. Arrange all the components over the remaining Villa Dots paper.
When you are happy with the position, glue first the photograph, then the paper with the swirl and then the embellishments.
Glue only the centre of the embellishments.
Fix the title with foam pads.
