Projects with Paper
Flowers!!!
Paper Flowers and Ribbons
The techniques used to make these cards are fairly straightforward.  You
can find the ribbons used HERE, and
the paper flowers HERE.  We used
mini glue dots to stick down the thin
ribbon and paper flowers, cutting off the stems on the ones where they have no
stems!  For the thicker ribbon we used the Scrapbook Glue Roller (a brilliant
tool).  To get the ribbon just right, stick it down first with extra length
at each end.  Then trim along the edge of the card with a sharp scissors
afterwards to give a straight edge.
Paper Flowers and ...Papers!

For this collection we co-ordinated the paper flowers with some of our
handmade and scrapbooking papers.  The first card uses the gorgeous Olive/Lime Mulberry Paper and the White Paper Flowers. We cut a square of
the paper out and stuck it onto a plain white C6 card using glue/double sided
tape/Glue Roller.  Then we added the white paper flowers using mini glue
dots!  Simple but effective.
The second card uses the same idea but a square of torn out Ivory Indian Cotton as the background on a
cream C6 card.
The next card features our Basic Grey Gumballs paper.  We cut out squares
of the red dots (it also features yellow, blue and whites ones you could use
with the other flowers though!) and use them as a backdrop for some red paper flowers.
The last card uses a strip from our Sporty Lap Pool Scrapbooking paper. Try
it with a stripey paper of your own too though!  We added co-ordinating
flowers in a strip along the edge using glue dots, and Voila!
Rubber Stamp Ink Pads and Other Techniques.

Some slightly more unusual cards using some different techniques.
The heart card we made very simply.  We drew an outline of a heart in
pencil on the square card, then used the Scrapbook Glue Roller to run strips of
double sided tape to fill the shape!  It didn't have to be exact or 100%
accurate as when we placed the red paper
flowers on, we were able to place them where needed on the tape to make a
more perfect heart.  We cut the stems off, did the outline of the heart
first by pressing the paper flowers onto the sticky tape. We then finished it
off by filling it in the middle with the rest of the flowers.
The 2nd card is a classic.  We used Glue dots to stick the bunch of
flowers down (we did this first so the stems of the flowers end up underneath
the terracotta pot).  We then stuck a Craft Glue dot onto the back of the
white terracotta pot, and wrapped a
small piece of 3mm red ribbon around the lip of the pot, sticking onto the glue
dot at the back.  When done, we pressed the pot down onto the card on top
of the stems, and it's done!  A very pretty and versatile card.
The last two cards both were done using ink pads and a round clear
sticker.  An alternative if you don't have a round sticker is to cut or
punch a circle from card (you could use our Circle Punch) and stick down onto the
card where you want the flower to go using a mini glue dot.  When you
remove the round piece of card later, it won't matter if it pulls a tiny piece
of paper from the card with it as that's where you'll be sticking the
flower!
For the red card, once the round piece of card/sticker was placed down on the
card, we used a Red Ink Pad to
distress the edges around the circle.  To do this, rub the ink pad along
the edges of the circle in a sweeping motion in the direction of the edges of
the card (i.e. away from the circle).  When done, remove the circle and
place the red flower down in the middle of the white circle using a mini glue
dot.
The last card couldn't be easier.  Place the circle down on the card
where you wish the flower to be.  Then take a large Blue Chalk Ink Pad and simple press the
whole inkpad down on the card around the circle!!!  This creates the solid
blue rectangle on the card.  We then inked the middle of the flower (hard
to see in this picture though) to match the blue rectangle.  Add the blue
flower in the middle of the circle and you're done!!  Works just as well
with the pink or yellow chalk pads and flowers too!
