Dear all,

Hoping to pick all your brains on this! Wink

I'm about to launch my personalised Christmas cards in time for the season. I'm planning on sending press releases out and trying to get some promotional activity going to publicise my website but I'm also hoping to have a stall at Howth farmers' market at the end of Oct or beg of Nov and generate some business there.

I'm hoping to get a stand indoors but I'm making a list of all the things I need to get organised beforehand - I'd appreciate it if any of you old hands out there could recommend anything else - and any suppliers/sources for these items. Thanks so much!!! Hug

Receipt book
Business cards
Posters
Table
Chairs/stools
Gazebo and weights etc (only if outdoors)
Cards in albums for browsing
Order forms
Price lists
Small perspex display stands for table
Bum bag for money (change)
Flyers
Drinks, food, warm clothes etc
Pens and paper
Competition forms (draw for prize of free cards)
Details of special offer - sign up within 2 wks for cards & get 10% extra free

I'm sure I've forgotten lots of things...

You've put in a couple of things I hadn't thought of!!

Only things I can think of is some kind of cover for the table and if you'll have something behind you - didn't someone on the forum use a trellis recently??

Bags - paper ones. Some customers if they buy a few cards from you will want a bag..

When you say personalised - presume you mean "To my mum/dad/sister/boyfriend" etc.?

I find people will always buy on the spot at these kind of markets, but taking orders for future delivery doesn't always work as well??

Hi Ais,

Thanks for replies. My cards are all personalised at home with photos and details of baby so there won't be any to take away and they have to be pre-ordered. Should I start using the word customised too to make that clear do you think?

Thanks again

Oh cool..so you'd do e.g. christmas cards with a baby photo in?

They'll totally go. I was thinking you were doing xmas cards just saying "for my dad" etc.

Sounds like a cool idea!

Never did get to put a stall up at the market - despite phone call and filling out form online, never got response?! Have decided to try other ways of promoting my cards including flyers I just received, designed and printed by printing.ie. I'm really pleased with the result and feel very professional!... now I just have to distribute them... Smile
