|
|
The thing about doodling is first, it doesn't to be perfect. It is supposed to be fun. Second, like lots of things, practice helps. So this is part one. Practising.
One apology. I made all my examples using a tablet, so my drawings are all a bit wobbly. It's a case of do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do.
I promise I'll post a hand-drawn layout later which (hopefully) will be a bit more inspirational but this is only for you to get a bit of practise.
SWIRLS
If you can write, you can do swirls. For example: S, C and ? (simple and curly):
E, P, P again and Y:
Right, let's try a small project - some swirls to go behind a monogram:
Start with an S:
Add a couple of ?:
And a C:
Let's add the monogram:
That's it. If you wish you can embelish further, making the line thicker in parts or adding flowers or leaves.
I decided to repeat the same lines, a bit offset and with broken lines:

FLOWERS
Everyone can do flowers. At least the ones I do, the ones with a round centre and petals around. (orchids, daffodils and roses, I can't).
Chose a centre (small, medium, large) and a petal type:
If you feel insecure about drawing straigh on, draw 2 circles to help you. Or 2 elipses for a sideways view.
Now to the project, a journaling block with flowers.
{apologies for the size of the drawings. I'll make them smaller tomorrow..}
Draw with a pencil a big circle for the journaling block itself and then some others for each flower. One big flower, 2 or 3 medium and some small ones.
Draw the flowers:
Now make the outline of the j. block:
Erase the pencil marks:
Add a bit of colours with colour pencils, watercolour or maybe stamp pads and a sponge.
Draw some lines and voila:

Very inspiring, Elisa .
Makes so much sense to think in terms of letters.
Wish I could draw that well on a tablet - very impressed here!
